A generator hire quote in Dubai is shaped mainly by the size of the unit, how long and how hard it runs, and what is needed to connect it safely. UAE Equipment Rental does not rent generators. This guide is general information to help you prepare a clear request for a specialist power supplier, so the quotes you receive can be compared fairly.
Size is the biggest factor
Generators are rated in kVA. The usable power in kW is roughly the kVA rating multiplied by 0.8, the power factor most sets are rated at. List every load you will connect with its power rating and add them up. Then allow for starting current: air conditioners, pumps and compressors can draw several times their running current for a moment when they start. Finally, leave headroom so the set does not run at its limit. An oversized set costs more to hire and to fuel; an undersized one trips or fails under load.
Running hours and load pattern
A standby set that runs only during outages is a different job from a prime-power set running day and night. Continuous running uses more fuel and needs regular servicing during the hire, so tell the supplier the expected hours per day and the number of days.
Fuel
Ask who supplies diesel, how refuelling is arranged, whether a larger fuel tank is needed for continuous running and whether fuel is charged separately. Consumption depends on the actual load, so a realistic estimate of the load gives a better fuel estimate.
Cabling, distribution and earthing
The quote should state the cable length from the set to your distribution board, whether a distribution board is included and, for backup power, whether an automatic transfer switch is needed. Connection and earthing should be carried out by a qualified electrician. These items are often priced separately.
Delivery, placement and noise
Large sets arrive on trucks and may need lifting equipment to put them in place. They need level, firm ground, space for air flow and an exhaust directed away from occupied areas. Near homes or at events, ask for a sound-attenuated (canopied) unit and check any noise limits.

- What kVA do you recommend for my load list, and is it a prime or standby rating?
- How is fuel supplied, and what tank size comes with the set?
- Are cables, a distribution board and a transfer switch included?
- How often is the set serviced during the hire, and how are breakdowns handled?
- What do delivery, placement and collection cost?
